Katharine Martin

Katharine’s practice emphasis is providing legal consultation to businesses during formation and transactions.  She also represents clients in financial fraud, trust and estate litigation in Oregon circuit court and arbitration venues including FINRA and ASP.

Professional Background

Katharine has 15 years experience as an attorney, including litigation in circuit court, arbiration venues including FINRA, and ASP, appellate courts, bankruptcy court, and immigration court. She formerly worked for a tax law firm where she advised on and resolved tax, business and real estate issues, including mergers and acquisitions. While attending law school, she was the Notes & Comments editor for the Oregon Review of International Law, and received the Dean’s Scholarship for three years. Prior to law school she worked for seven years as a project manager for two data companies.

Significant Representation 

Katharine has worked on mergers and acquisitions for sellers with sale values up to $40 million.  She co-counseled the defense of a general contractor in a seven-week, $20 million construction trial.  She also successfully represented a two-year refugee case before the Immigration Court pro bono, and continues to handle pro bono immigration matters for victims of domestic violence through Catholic Charities.
